Tomas Berdych wins in RotterdamPosted on 17/02/2014 in Tennis
Tomas Berdych prepared for the upcoming major ATP tournaments by ending his title drought with a straight sets win over Marin Cilic in the final of the World Tennis tournament in Rotterdam.
The third seed won 6-4 6-2 to take his first ATP title in 16 months, beating Andy Murray's conqueror Cilic, who had posted nine straight wins.
Berdych told the ATP's official website: "To win a title in Rotterdam, it's a nice bonus. I'm extremely happy with the way I handled it throughout the week. I've been serving pretty well, which has been the strong part of my game."
The win moves Berdych ahead of Murray in the ATP rankings, but with Indian Wells on the horizon, the list could be set for a lot of movement before the clay court season gets underway.
