Andy Murray hopes to start quick against AlmagroPosted on 02/08/2012 in Tennis
Andy Murray knows that he cannot afford to have another slow start in his Olympic quarter final match against Nicolas Almagro today (August 2nd).
The British number one is chasing a gold medal for Team GB after overcoming another spirited display from Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis yesterday to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Almagro is the 11th seed for the tournament having made great progress with his game this year.
Murray said that although his opponent has a reputation as a clay court specialist he is equally dangerous away from the red stuff.
"He doesn't have loads of variation but he can overpower you. I'll need to play well to win. If I serve like I did the last couple of sets, that will help me out a lot," added the 25-year-old who is competing in his second Games.
Number one seed Roger Federer takes on John Isner, while Novak Djokoivc will face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
