AVB: Inter should fear Bale againPosted on 07/03/2013 in Blog, Serie A
Andres Villas-Boas has said that Gareth Bale is a much better player now than when he tore Inter Milan apart in 2010, scoring a hat-trick in the San Siro.
Tottenham meet the Italians again tonight (March 7th), this time in the Europa League, and the clash has evoked memories of one of Bale's finest performances, but his manager insists Inter have more to worry about this time round.
"Now, two years on, he plays in a different position. He's become a different player, a bigger player and a more complete player.
"He's the kind of player who can determine the outcome of a game," said the Portuguese manager.
That is certainly what the Welshman has been doing of late – he has scored 20 times already this season as Spurs have climbed to third in the Premier League.
Villas-Boas will be hoping Bale can continue his great form as he looks to recapture the cup he won with Porto before moving to Chelsea.
The Tottenham boss also confirmed that striker Emmanuel Adebayor may miss the last-16 tie against Inter, due to a knee injury he picked up in last weekend's north London derby win.
