Vincent Kompany: We can still catch Manchester UnitedPosted on 03/01/2013 in Premier League
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany insists that his team can still catch Manchester United and retain their Premier League crown, despite a difficult start to the campaign.
The champions find themselves seven points behind their city rivals and have already been knocked out of the Champions League.
However, Kompany believes that spirits in the City camp remain high and they will take heart from their heroics last season when they clawed back an eight-point gap on Manchester United in the final six games.
The Belgian said: "A couple of years ago, if we had fallen seven points behind, we would have said it would be very difficult.
"But now we have done it and won the title, nobody panics. Everything is still possible."
City will have to step up their challenge without influential midfield driving force Yaya Toure, who heads to the Africa Cup of Nations with his brother Kolo.
However, they will now have a welcome distraction from league duties as they prepare to take on Watford in the 3rd round of the FA Cup this Saturday (January 5th).
