Rooney: United can win another Champions LeaguePosted on 25/02/2014 in Premier League
Wayne Rooney has challenged his Manchester United teammates to ensure they make it to the Champions League next season – by winning it this year.
The Premier League champions are struggling domestically and find themselves in sixth place, 11 points off the top four with just 11 games to play.
However, some of United's best performances have come in Europe and Rooney, who earlier this week committed his long-term future to the club, believes he can pick up the European Cup again this year.
The £300,000-a-week man said: "One [Champions League] is never enough, especially at this club.
"If we can go to final it'd be great for us. It would be an opportunity to win another trophy, so hopefully we can do that."
United have travelled to Greece to play Olympiakos tonight (February 25th) in the last 16 of the competition, knowing a win could help them put one foot in the quarters.
