Premier League not over, insists Roberto ManciniPosted on 04/02/2013 in Premier League
Roberto Mancini insists that the Premier League title race is not over and that his Manchester City side can still catch runaway leaders Manchester United.
After the latest round of fixtures, United went nine points clear at the top of the table, after they recorded a nervy win away to Fulham and City could only draw with Liverpool, yet despite the gap, Mancini said it was still all to play for.
"They have to play in the FA Cup and the Champions League so the season is long – three months – and we are confident. It is enough to recover three or four points in three games," stated the Italian.
He pointed to last year's turnaround which saw City overhaul an eight-point United lead in just six games, but believes that this time the Champions will need to win 11 or 12 of the remaining 13 matches.
The two teams meet at Old Trafford on April 6th and the Italian wants his side to have closed the gap significantly by then.
