Jose: We want Wayne and no-one elsePosted on 18/07/2013 in Premier League
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Chelsea have made a bid for unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
The Portuguese manager has also denied that any of his players have been offered in exchange, as reports emerged that either Juan Mata or David Luiz were part of the bid to the Premier League champions.
He said: "Chelsea is interested in this player, made a bid, and what we did, we did officially.
"The bid is there. The club knows we want the player, the player has to know we made a bid for him."
Mourinho was not keeping his cards close to his chest, as he explained that Rooney is his only outstanding transfer target this summer.
The United forward has left the club's preseason tour with a hamstring injury and has since stated that he is angry and confused at the way he has been treated.
If a move does go through, Rooney can be assured of a hot reception at Old Trafford on Chelsea's first away day of the new Premier League season.
