Chelsea anxiously awaiting news on knee injuryPosted on 12/11/2012 in Premier League
Chelsea captain John Terry is set to undergo a scan on suspected knee ligament damage later today (November 12th).
Back after a four-match domestic ban, the Chelsea skipper fired his team into a 1-0 lead in the first half of their match against Liverpool before going down following an accidental collision with Luis Suarez.
Terry was in obvious agony following the collision and was carried off during the first half, while his team was still winning.
Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo said they will know the true extent of the injury when the results of the scan are revealed.
He added that it was great to have his captain back and leading the team out after the four-match ban.
"When a player like John reacts like that you know it is a painful one. When he started the game he scored the goal and showed the qualities he has. It was a real shame he had to come off," the manager added.
Following Suarez's second half equaliser, Chelsea are now three points behind leaders Manchester United in the Premier League table after Sir Alex Ferguson's men came from behind to defeat Aston Villa 3-2 on Saturday.
