Bayern continue defence of Champions LeaguePosted on 10/04/2014 in Premier League
Bayern Munich's hopes of becoming the first team to retain the Champions League remain alive as they eventually overcame a dogged Manchester United side.
Pep Guardiola said: "I am very, very proud of my team. Everyone always says it is easy to win the Bundesliga title and continue playing at a high level, but it is not. The players ran their hearts out today and worked really hard. They deserve to be in the semi-finals."
After dispatching Arsenal and the English champions, the Bavarians could now face even more English opposition in the semis, with the possibility of Guardiola locking horns with his old La Liga rival Jose Mourinho.
With the Bundesliga already wrapped up, Bayern have a great chance to prepare for the key ties coming up, something which Chelsea, Atletico and Real cannot do as they are all still fighting for domestic honours.
Can Bayern become the first side to win the Champions League in back-to-back seasons? Will Chelsea and Jose spoil the party once more? Before betting have a look at our football odds.
