Arsenal v Hull FA Cup final match betting preview

Posted on 16/05/2014 in Premier League

It's one of the oldest and most talked about traditions in English football history. Arsenal's trophy-less spell could end in the FA Cup final tomorrow (May 17th).

Arsene Wenger must feel he needs this trophy like he needs a new zipper for his jacket.

Fortunately for the Frenchman, Arsenal come into the showpiece occasion in great form having secured the much-vaunted (in the Emirates at least) Fourth-Place Cup. They are priced at 9/20 to get the win in 90 minutes.

Will this be £40-million man Mesut Ozil's time to shine? Odds of 8/1 are on offer if you think the German can score the first goal at Wembley.

Typically with Arsenal, as soon as the pressure was off, they started to regain some of their fluency, winning their last five games of the season. Now that there's something to play for, the Gunners could misfire once more. However, it looks as if Hull are in no place to capitalise.

The Tigers have not won any of their last five matches. Can they pick themselves off the floor for the cup final? Hull to win in 90 minutes is available at 59/10

Whatever has happened to Hull's players since securing a final berth, no-one can accuse Steve Bruce of taking his eyes off the pitch, as they have always been firmly on the buffet, but the man known as Daisey – or maybe Dolly – is a winner, picking up the FA Cup on three occasions with Manchester United.

Also, Hull have favour on their side. The Tigers have a 100 per cent win record at the new Wembley Stadium following their 2008 playoff final victory and win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-final this season.

Will cup specialist Matty Fryatt strike again? The former Walsall ace has been displaced by new arrivals Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic in the league, but in five FA Cup appearances this season he has bagged four times, while he has ten in his last 13 FA Cup starts. He's priced at 11/1 to score the last goal.
