Ronaldo signs new Madrid deal

Posted on 16/09/2013 in La Liga

Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new deal with Real Madrid that will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2018.

The forward has scored 203 goals in 203 appearances for Los Blancos helping them win the Copa del Rey in 2011 and the La Liga a year later.

His old contract would've run out in 18 months time and he had been linked with a return to Manchester United, but Ronaldo insists that Madrid is his home now.

"I will be honest with you – everyone knows I was in Manchester for six years. Manchester is in the past.

"Now my club is Real Madrid. This is my home, my family is here and I'm really happy here," he said.

Ronaldo scored his second goal of the season as Real drew 2-2 with Villarreal on Saturday (September 14th), but the result means that Madrid are already two points behind rivals Barcelona.
