Louis van Gaal: No deal with Manchester United yet

Posted on 14/05/2014 in International

Current Holland coach Louis van Gaal insists his future is still undecided, despite widespread reports positioning him as the next Manchester United boss – with many expecting an announcement imminently.

Van Gaal wants to concentrate on the Holland camp as they prepare for their upcoming World Cup campaign, but he did say a few days ago that United are the biggest club in the world and he'd love to be David Moyes' successor.

However, speaking to the Dutch media yesterday (May 13th), van Gaal said: "I'm here as Dutch national team coach, not the future Manchester United coach."

He did hint at a future appointment, stating: "You must wait until the process is complete. If you want to know more, then you must put questions to Manchester United, or perhaps to another club."

Speaking about his previous comments on United, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach said he had simply mumbled a few words and journalists had published 60 pages about them.

Is van Gaal the right man for Manchester United? Can he get them back into the Champions League next year? Will his suspected new job hinder Holland's World Cup campaign?
