Hodgson sees plenty of withdrawals ahead of England v ChilePosted on 14/11/2013 in International
After the commitment and excitement of the final two World Cup qualifiers, it looks as though Roy Hodgson will be without a number of key players for the upcoming international friendly against Chile and Germany.
The coach had already suggested he was going to use the games to assess other members of his squad, but he has been left with little option after a number of key names have pulled out of the ties.
Steven Gerrard and Kyle Walker are the latest Premier League stars to withdraw, following the news that Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck will not take part.
In-form striker Daniel Sturridge is also a doubt with a foot complaint.
It means that Hodgson may call on the revitalised Jordan Henderson and new call-ups Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez.
Will England be able to continue their string of impressive performances or will Chile and Germany prove to be too strong for a makeshift Three Lions XI?
