Wright aiming to end wrongs of Australia with wins in the WIPosted on 24/02/2014 in Cricket
Luke Wright is looking to take advantage of England's rebuilding process and nail down a place in both the 50-over and Twenty20 sides this year.
The all-rounder has become a regular in the T20 side, but has been lacking consistency in ODIs. He hopes the omission of Kevin Pietersen will free up space for him to add to his two ODI caps in the past three years.
Wright said: "There's places up for grabs. Obviously this trip is an opportunity for a lot of us to stake a claim. We weren't good enough in Australia in all the different forms."
He only played in the T20 games, but admits he personally did little to stop the rot that had set in during the tour. However, Wright was a big success in the Big Bash in Australia, finishing the tournament as one of the leading run-scorers.
England will play three ODIs and T20 internationals with the West Indies before flying to Bangladesh for the short-format World Cup.
