Stuart Broad is 100% behind Alastair CookPosted on 19/02/2014 in Cricket
Stuart Broad insists he is fully behind Alastair Cook – and not because that is the best place to be to stab him in the back.
England's T20 captain rubbished the notion he wants to replace Cook as leader of the Test team following the winter's 5-0 Ashes debacle in Australia.
Broad said: "I really enjoy the captaincy stuff but I'm 100 per cent behind Cook as a skipper.
"I'd be surprised if Cooky copped any stick, he's our highest scorer of Test hundreds at the age of 29."
Cook may be in line for some "stick" should England fail to improve against Sri Lanka in June, especially as it was partly his decision to continue the rebuilding process without Kevin Pietersen.
Before then, Broad has a chance to show his leadership credentials when England head to the World T20 in Bangladesh. Can England regain their crown? Have a look at our cricket odds and place a bet.
