Kevin Pietersen dropped for South Africa deciderPosted on 13/08/2012 in Cricket
Kevin Pietersen has said that he remains committed to England, despite the ECB taking the decision to drop him form the crucial final Test against South Africa.
England go into the game on Thursday (August 16th) needing to win to retain their number one-ranked status and have opted to be without their man of the mach from Headingley.
The South African-born batsman is reported to have sent text messages to the opposition in the second Test and having failed to give assurances they were not of a derogatory nature to his own teammates, the ECB have replaced him in the 13-man squad with Jonny Bairstow.
Pietersen said in a statement: "This entire episode has been demoralising for me and my family."
Before the squad decision was made, Peitersen has released a video on YouTube stating he was again available for England in all forms of the game.
Pietersen is currently the quickest person in Test history to accumulate 7,000 runs.
