Jos Buttler: Pietersen’s era is overPosted on 26/02/2014 in Cricket
Jos Buttler believes the upcoming tour of the West Indies and the subsequent ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh is the perfect platform for England to rebuild following the retirement of Kevin Pietersen.
Buttler was one of the few players to emerge from a shambolic time in Australia with any credit and he believes England can move on without the South African-born batsman.
He said Pietersen was a great player, with big shoes to fill, but England are up to the task.
"I think there are a lot of match-winners in our dressing room, and now is a great opportunity for guys to step forward and try to emulate some of the success that Kevin had," said the wicketkeeper batsman.
England play three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 clashes in the Caribbean before the squad departs for Bangladesh and the World T20.
Can Buttler and the changing of the guard fire England to success in the West Indies? Can they regain the World T20 without Pietersen?
