Russell Westbrook out to make amends in Game 5Posted on 21/06/2012 in NBA
Russell Westbrook will be looking to make up for his crucial lapse of concentration in Game 4 of the NBA Finals when the series continues tonight (June 1st).
The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard had been sensational all game as his penetration and slick jump shot combined for 43 points and gave the visiting team a real chance of squaring things up in Miami and regaining home-court advantage.
But with the game still tight in the final seconds Westbrook committed a foul to send Mario Chalmers to the line even though the shot clock had less than five seconds left.
OKC coach Scott Brooks appear to make everyone aware of the time remaining in the possession and Westbrook admitted it was his fault.
The Thunder will need their All-Star to forget about it and still produce big numbers tonight with the Heat on the brink of a finals win.
With the series at 3-1, Game 5 is a must win for Oklahoma City, but they may be buoyed by the fact that LeBron James, who has been sensational so far in the series, sat out the final few seconds of the last encounter as he struggled to recover from a heavy tumble.
