NBA All-Star votes reveal starters

Posted on 22/01/2013 in Blog, NBA

The votes are in and the starters for this year’s NBA All-Star game have been named.

Kobe Bryant has edged out LeBron James as the leading vote-getter, achieving 1,591,437 to the MVP’s 1,583,646. It also means that Bryant makes NBA history with his 15th consecutive All-Star nod.

Joining the Lakers guard in the backcourt for the Western Conference will be the Clippers’ Chris Paul.

The starting front three for the West will be Black Griffin, Kevin Durrant and Dwight Howard.

In the East, James will have help from fellow Heat star Dwayne Wade, Kevin Garnett, Carmelo Anthony and Rajon Rondo – who earns his first All-Star call-up.

The East and West All-Star coaches are determined by the best record in the respective conferences in games played to February 3rd.

Once all the selections are made, the 62nd NBA All-Star game will take place in Houston on February 17th.
