London hosts Hawks v Nets

Posted on 16/01/2014 in NBA

The Atlanta Hawks play the Brooklyn Nets at London's O2 tonight (January 16th).

It will almost be like a home game for the Nets, who have played in the city three times since 2008. However, this will be the first time that they have come to the UK with future Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in their ranks.

The Hawks also have experience playing in London, as they took part in the first ever NBA games in the capital, when they played back-to-back match-ups against the Orlando Magic in 1993.

These teams last tipped off against each other on January 6th and back then it was Brooklyn who won at the Barclays Center 91-86.

Hawks head coach Mike Budenhozler thinks after the off-season trades the Nets have found their rhythm and could be a force in the Eastern Conference.

"But I think there is value in playing a team shortly after you play them for the first time. Players' attention is usually a little bit sharper," he added.

Will the Hawks take some revenge or will Brooklyn continue on their roll? Check out our NBA odds.
