Kobe Bryant ruled out for the rest of the seasonPosted on 13/03/2014 in NBA
The Lakers' miserable season continues to get worse.
Well short of the play-off race, LA have confirmed that NBA legend Kobe Bryant will not return to the court again this year.
The five-time NBA champion has been trying to recover from a fractured lateral tibial plateau of his left knee, but after an examination from team physician Dr Steve Lombardo, he was ruled out for the long term – Bryant's second consecutive injury-curtailed season.
"Obviously this has been a frustrating and disappointing season, but I appreciate all the support I've received from the Lakers and the fans and look forward to being back and ready for the start of training camp," said Bryant.
Just when the Lakers fans were hoping for a break, they will look at the schedule and see a game with a rampant Kevin Durant and OKC, before back-to-back encounters with last season's NBA Western Conference Champions the San Antonio Spurs.
