Indiana win in LAPosted on 23/01/2012 in NBA
Indiana have sent the Lakers crashing to their third straight defeat.
The Pacers won a tight game at the Staples Center as the lead changed 14 times in the second half. In a madcap final minute, both Derek Fisher and Kobe Bryant missed crucial shots for LA before the buzzer sounded on a 98-96 victory for Frank Vogel's men.
Speaking after the game, the coach said he thought his team didn't get some of the calls they deserved from the officials, but playing on the road they expected that and his players showed a lot of determination for a big win.
Roy Hibbert, playing centre for Indiana, scored 18 points in the clash, despite suffering a broken nose in the second quarter.
The league's leading scorer Kobe Bryant finished the game with 33 points, but was unable to help his team overcome a dogged Pacers performance.
"It's a good win for us and we've come a long way. We feel like we're one of the elite teams in the league," said Vogel, whose team now return back to the Conseco Fieldhouse to play the Magic on Tuesday.
The Lakers will hope to end their losing streak on Wednesday night when they face city rivals the Clippers.
