Dwight Howard signs with the RocketsPosted on 09/07/2013 in Blog, NBA
Free agent Dwight Howard has become a Houston Rocket.
The centre spent the last season with the Lakers, but failed to settle in LA, struggling with both injuries and form.
He will now move to the two-time NBA champions and join up with James Harden who made the trip to Texas last offseason and was influential in getting the big man to put pen to paper.
Howard said: "The biggest thing was a championship potential. I looked at a couple of teams. [The Rockets] just stood out. I think this is the best fit for me as far as playing basketball. I'm looking forward to it."
The All-Star was widely regarded as the prime free agent this summer and his decision has left plenty of people talking Stateside.
Former teammate Kobe Bryant has said a curt farewell, while Shaquille O'Neal believes the player couldn't handle the pressure of playing for the Lakers.
