1 year on – Rajon Rondo nears NBA returnPosted on 16/01/2014 in NBA
Rajon Rondo is edging closer to an NBA return almost a year after he suffered ligament damage in his knee.
The All-star guard took part in a test workout at the team's practice facility before joining his Celtics teammates in a training session before yesterday's (January 15th) game against the Toronto Raptors.
Boston head coach Brad Stevens said: "It accomplished what we wanted it to accomplish.
"He's going to go through some shooting. I think it was more about him getting up and down the floor."
And do the Celtics need their franchise player. The most successful team in NBA history had lost nine in a row going into the match against the Raptors.
Rondo last played on January 25th 2013 and it is hoped he will get some game time – almost 12 months after the injury – when the Celtics take on the Lakers on Friday.
Will Rondo return the same player? Will he stay at one of the NBA's worst teams after the trade deadline? Have a look at our basketball odds and place a bet.
